Choosing to keep a garden on the balcony will help to eat seasonal fresh veggies while waiting for them to be available at a certain point during the year and appreciating them in a specific season. How natural does this sounds to you?
First of all we would need to understand when the veggies will ready and start harvesting.
May is the month in which finally we have got more from the garden than just the few bits survived at winter temperatures. It is the month of broad beans, peas, chickpeas and green beans.
Of course will still be available spinaches, chards, rocket, celery, asparagus, fennels, carrots, too.
In this month the first courgette’ flowers and new potatoes will also be available and from the end of the month plenty of what we know as “summer fruits” as nectarines, apricots, strawberries and cherries will be ready for our meals.
All along the year, mostly, apples, pears and lemons will be at our disposal.
Chill a bit on this season and appreciate all these new varieties to add to your recipes of the month!
